Growing up in St. Louis, Michael loved smoking meat for friends and family at cookouts and tailgate parties. He came to the Savannah area in 2002 when he and his wife, Dee, decided they wanted to have acreage and raise their family. The love for smoking and grilling never left him, so Michael decided to share his love of barbeque with the rest of us.
In July 2008, Michael opened Goochy Goo BBQ on the weekends so that we could all dig into the best barbeque. The response was so great that by October 2008 he opened his fun, down-home, family oriented restaurant full-time. You can find Michael, Dee, and their son, Jarrett, serving the mouth-watering brisket, pork, turkey, and ham to everyone. Their daughter, Devon, is there to help when she’s home from college.

Nachos, Goochy Goo style By Sylvia Anderson

"One of my favorites I'd like to nominate is Goochy Goo BBQ in Savannah, Mo. They have excellent barbecue, but my favorite item is pork nachos. They serve smoked pulled pork over tortilla chips, covered with melted Monterrey Jack cheese and served with sliced jalapenos. You can then choose which type of Goo (barbecue sauce) to drizzle over the top - Goo (original), Sweet Goo, or Spicy Goo ... the spicy is best!"
